"Firestar is dead. I am leader of ThunderClan now. And I am proud to uphold his legacy of preserving all the Clans in the forest. No Clan was left behind on the Great Journey to find the lake. No Clan was abandoned to fight alone against the Dark Forest. No Clan will be allowed to fall now, not if the rest of us can protect them."

Bramblestar is a dark brown tabby tom with amber eyes,[1] long,[2] glossy fur,[3] long, curved claws,[4] and a long scar on his shoulder.[5]

His mother was Goldenflower and his father was Tigerstar. Lots of cats, including Fireheart , looked at Bramblekit and thought of Tigerstar with his dark brown tabby coat and amber eyes. Bramblekit went with Tawnykit and Darkstripe to the Thunderpath in The Darkest Hour.

During a fire, Fireheart saves Bramblekit from a tree but leaves Yellowfang in the camp. She then dies of the smoke trapped in her den.

They met their father, Tigerstar, there. They were told about their father by Darkstripe and how he was a hero. Soon, Bramblekit was named an apprentice.

Fireheart was deputy when Bramblekit was made an apprentice and got the name Bramblepaw. Bramblepaw's mentor was Fireheart.

Fireheart told Bramblepaw the truth about his and Tawnypaw's father, Tigerstar, and all he had done to ThunderClan. Bramblepaw was horrified about it then without warning blurted furiously out to Fireheart that Fireheart watches him all the time thinking he looked so much like his father.

Brambleclaw had been picked in the New Prophecy by Bluestar to go on the journey to the sundrown-place. Feathertail, Crowpaw, and Tawnypelt were chosen as well. Stormfur and Squirrelpaw come with them. As he did this, the ThunderClan at home was being destroyed by Twolegs. The StarClan badger, Midnight, fortold the forest being destroyed, and unless the cats can lead the others to a brand new home, the cats will go with the forest.

Eventually, Squirrelpaw stops bickering and she and Brambleclaw start falling in love while they have to lead ThunderClan to their new home. Feathertail dies while saving the Tribe by killing a mountain lion named Sharptooth. They return to their Clans to their new home. When they stop in the Tribe of Rushing Water's territory, Stormfur decides to live there. He, Squirrelpaw, Crowpaw, and his sister, Tawnypelt lead all Clans to their new home.

Then they appoint Brambleclaw to make possible boundaries to the Clans.

They soon have fallen used to the new home, and Brambleclaw played a big part in helping. He became mates with Squirrelflight and becomes a father to Jaykit, Hollykit, and Lionkit. He watched them grow up, thinking that they were his kits.

Finally, the truth came out during a Gathering about Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze not being his kits, but were Leafpool's, the medicine cat, and Crowfeather's, a WindClan cat. He never forgave Squirrelflight for lying to him. But when he became leader, Bramblestar picked Squirrelflight to be his deputy.

Leafpool has a dream in which she sees Bramble Claws protecting the camp. She tells this to Firestar, who makes Brambleclaw the new deputy. The next morning, he meets Hawkfrost by the lake and finds out that Hawkfrost has trapped Firestar in a fox trap.

Brambleclaw stays loyal to his Clan and, instead of killing his leader, kills Hawkfrost, turning the lake red, and completing the prophecy, Before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red.

Bramblestar becomes leader after the death of Firestar in The Last Hope. He names Squirrelflight as his deputy, as there was no cat he trusted more. Squirrelflight had no idea she would be chosen, and Dovewing thought that he would choose Lionblaze, because Lionblaze could not get hurt in battle.

In Bramblestar's Storm, he makes a new rule for the Warrior Code, which is that every Clan, during a time of need, must unite as one to preserve the four. In The Silent Thaw, an imposter takes over his body when he dies, forcing Bramblestar to become a ghost.
