"If I'm bloodying my paws already, why stop at one cat?"
This article contains major spoilers for the recently released book, Wind. Please proceed at your own discretion.
"Frostpaw! Is Tigerstar making you do this? Did he make you doubt yourself, or convince you that your visions weren't real? You know you don't have to listen to him!"
— Havenpelt to Frostpaw about her decision to train as a warrior in Shadow, page 86

Havenpelt is a black-and-white she-cat.[1]

Havenpelt is a RiverClan queen under Splashtail's leadership in the lake territories. As an apprentice, Havenpaw was mentored by Mallownose. After earning her warrior name, Havenpelt allowed Alderheart to gather watermint and later fell ill. She recovered, and she and Sneezecloud became mates and had Fogkit and Splashkit together. Following Tigerstar and ShadowClan's takeover of RiverClan, Havenpelt and Sneezecloud had another litter of kits: Floatkit, Rapidkit, and Troutkit.

History[]

In the A Vision of Shadows arc[]

The Apprentice's Quest[]

Havenpelt is now a RiverClan warrior.

River of Fire[]

"You can come across, Alderheart, but the warriors must stay behind."
―Havenpelt to Alderheart when he comes for watermint River of Fire, page 52
When ThunderClan and WindClan cats approach RiverClan's border to collect watermint, Havenpelt and Shimmerpelt approach the patrol. The latter orders them off RiverClan territory, due to their borders being closed. Sparkpelt retorts that they're on WindClan territory, and therefore don't need their permission. Since the RiverClan cats don't appear to want trouble, Alderheart suggests that he talk with Mistystar about the situation. Shimmerpelt and Havenpelt step away and discuss this, and eventually the black-and-white she-cat says he can come, but the warriors must stay behind. Sparkpelt protests, but Alderheart insists it'll be okay and travels to RiverClan's camp with the two cats.
They lead him further down the stream, with Havenpelt teasing that he doesn't swim. They keep pace with him and they approach a spot in the stream with a stone in the center. Alderheart crosses, and they walk to RiverClan's camp. Once there, Havenpelt directs the ThunderClan tom to stay put while he fetches Mistystar. The RiverClan leader agrees that they can collect watermint, but tells him to be mindful next time that her borders are closed. Havenpelt and Shimmerpelt escort him back to his Clanmates, and stand guard at the stream until the ThunderClan and WindClan cats are done gathering watermint.
In the bonus scene, Softpaw and Havenpelt are ill with the bellyache sickness. Willowshine watches over them while they sleep in their nests, thinking that they should get another dose of watermint, but she doesn't have enough. She checks on them throughout the day, seeing Havenpelt stirring in her sleep. When Curlfeather gets sick, she is given a nest next to the she-cat. Later, Willowshine notes that Havenpelt has recovered enough to return to the warriors den, but that the sickness still rages in camp.

In The Broken Code arc[]

Lost Stars[]

Havenpelt is now a queen and has given birth to Sneezecloud's kits, Fogkit and Splashkit.

The Silent Thaw[]

Havenpelt has returned from the nursery to her warrior duties. Her kits are now apprentices, Fogpaw and Splashpaw.

In the A Starless Clan arc[]

River[]

"Yes, and that StarClan wants our medicine cats to take on more responsibility. That they should collaborate with our senior warriors until we have a StarClan approved leader."
―Havenpelt about Mothwing and Frostpaw leading the Clan River (book), page 126
Her kits are now warriors, Splashtail and Fognose. When RiverClan argues against Mistystar about the changes being made to the warrior code, Havenpelt agrees that the Lights in the Mist all came from half-Clan relationships, including Mistystar herself. After Mistystar's death and Reedwhisker's disappearance, Minnowtail and Havenpelt venture to ThunderClan's camp to ask if they have seen their deputy, though they don't elaborate when ThunderClan presses. Havenpelt agrees with the others that Mothwing and Frostpaw should lead until StarClan chooses their next leader.

Sky[]

"We'd better leave before he changes his mind again."
―Havenpelt to Harelight about Owlnose assigning patrols Sky (book), page 143
While discussing how the Clan is disorientated after Curlfeather's death, Mothwing notes how Havenpelt and Gorseclaw near fought over hunting in the water meadow. While reflecing who should be leader, Frostpaw briefly thinks about Havenpelt. Owlnose later orders patrols, though he stumbles over which border Havenpelt and Harelight should mark, and Havenpelt mutters they should leave before he changes his mind. Later, Owlnose and Splashtail order Havenpelt, Nightsky, and Gorseclaw to the gorge to hunt.

Shadow[]

«But we don't want kits born into chaos. We need a leader and a deputy, and we need them soon.»
—Frostpaw about Havenpelt's new litter Shadow (book), page 194
After the battle for RiverClan, Havenpelt asks why Owlnose didn't receive his nine lives. She argues against Frostpaw's decision to train as a warrior and wonders if Tigerstar pressed her to change careers, though the gray she-cat insists she cannot communicate with StarClan. Later, Mothwing tells Frostpaw that Havenpelt is expecting another litter of kits. Frostpaw later hunts with Harelight, Havenpelt, and Podlight.

Thunder[]

When Ivypool is discussing about the talks, she says that Splashtail only showed up because Havenpelt was expecting kits.

Wind[]
