js Codes...

As far as I know, this wiki doesn't have the Script tags enabled... and if it does, they should be removed immediately due to the security issues they can cause. I know you're collecting various Javascript codes, but I'm fairly certain none will work...  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 00:20, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Help!

Eulalia459678-help! Can you give me advice on My Role Play- you're going to delete it! Also- how do you make a website for your Role Play, and how do you link it to WWiki? Thanks!

RE: Userboxes

  • snicker* I'd honestly already been thinking of going through and playing with the userboxes to coordinate them and improve looks and make all the sizes match and suchlike. But it's going to be fairly low priority until I have a handle on a few things. Like a policy for acceptable and unacceptable user subpage uses. I'm noticing that some people are plotting to start RPs on them to get around the controls on Forum and Roleplay space usage... and that's just stuff we're not setup to handle the bulk of, considering all the patrolling-pollution we're having to deal with from it. Basically, there's a lot of stuff (particularaly where policy and policy enforcement is) that needs to be solified. and I wanna finish my tweaks to the mainpage before I undertake too much graphically... And The Online Phenom stuff... it needs to be restructured, that much I can see strait up, so there's a lot of organizing and coordinating that needs to happen in the next 4 or so weeks that will take priority over Userboxes. They'll be on my list, just not high on it for awhile.

Lordy lou.... Didn't you miss my rambles?

Not R.P

Oceanclan is NOT Role Play. It is very Exclusive. I just wanted to let you know! Shellstar 13:35, 28 June 2008 (UTC)Shellstar

RE: Main Page

I actually think it would be easier, and more sensible, to see if we have control over our Meta Data, actually. I'll look into that tomorrow, because if we can change that we can help guide search engines based on what we class our site as, not just what words they find in the text that shows... We could actually build a more complete and more detailed bit of information for search indexing. If all else fails, moving it can be a fallback plan.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 14:49, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

ItE Character Pages

Please delete ALL of the ItE character pages created by that IP address. They're all flawed in SOO many ways. Gender, fur color, EVERYTHING is so messed up that I know that WHOEVER created those pages hasn't even VISITED my site. I want them gone as soon as possible because they may give people false impressions about my site. An example would be the fact that whoever wrote these made the character Sharpstar evil, he's not.

RE: AFDs

Since you have two clear parts, I'll respond to them both while I'm here on break from work.

  1. I'm not sure. I have to do research before I can get back to you that one. There might be, though. I'd just have to do some homework... Which will have to wait until I'm not on lunch and expected back at work in 15 minuets (with a 5-10 minuet drive).
  2. Generally speaking, unless we write a speedy delete policy we're gonna want to give 'em the full week we normally give pages. In case they wish to actually try and save their pages (continuances happen). As for the requested deletions... I'd say only delete pages started by the person doing the requesting immediately, and process the rest as normal AFDs (Just because the owner of the site says it's wrong, doesn't mean it was just an accident and they'd like to keep their page on here. There's nothing currently documented that says that the game needs to be recorded on this site for the characters to be documented.

SORRY!!!

Eulalia459678, this is User:GroceryBag. Sorry about what ever i've been doing wrong on this website, but i'm new on here, so i'm still learning about it. But what do you mean whatever i type is seen by the GDFL? Write me back on my Talk-Page, thanks, User:GroceryBag!

Profiles

I realize Aurora's already mentioned this, but I really think we should delete all the ItE profiles posted on this wiki ASAP, because they're all COMPLETELY wrong. Thanks.--SharpstarofFireClan 20:39, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Warriors Fanfic Wiki

Hi Eu, I've begun working on the Warriors Fan Fiction Wiki and I just wondered if you get a chance if you would take a look around. Thanks to Joe for the logo. :-) Gotta go, will be back later. QUESTION

On Redtail's page, he has family. Firestar's his son-in-law, and Sandstorm's his daughter. when i edited that, though, It said Firestar was his sire, and Sandstorm was his dame?!! Could you look at that for me? thanks, GroceryBag 15:48, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Just making a statement here, but the cats don't have a formal ceremony of matehood, thus inlaws simply don't exist in their world and are not family because there is no formal permanent or semi-permanent bond between mates. If there are those who feel this isn't an acceptable POV we may wish to have a discussion on the forum and put together a Wiki-wide stance on this issue.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 15:55, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for helping!!!

Mainpage

I figured I would give you an update on the mainpage.

  • I'm planning a series of additional graphics to prettyup the Books listing, but that will be waiting until after the wedding. Since it'll be time consuming to make the graphics.
  • The Upcoming releases are going to be moved to UNDER the books/world boxes, and the Online Phenom stuff will be moved to the right hand column.
    • This will wait until the RP Project is organized, because the layout of the various RP pages and the structuring is going to have to be improved and streamlined. They just aren't being properly utilized right now.

Once the wedding is over I'll be squaring away alot of it, but I figured I would keep you up to date on the situation and my plans for the improvements.

Charcat

Is there a page with the Tribe Charcat?Or do we just alter the Clan Charcat? --JayfeatherTalk 21:01, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Fixed

I fixed the Warrior's Return wikipedia thing. I wrote those 2 paragraphs my self now, instead of the wikipedia thing. --JayfeatherTalk 21:22, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the info, Eu! I kept putting {{subst:Welcome|----}} and it not working. Okay, that works! AN EXCLAMATION POINT, the answer to everything. --TC14 23:08, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Spotlight Again

You did get a nice jump in users with the spotlight, and it looks like your numbers are still going up. Since it seems to have really helped you out, we'll be happy to put the spot back up for awhile. -- Wendy (talk) 01:44, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Family Trees

REPORT

Hey, Eu, it's GroceryBag. Okay, Mousefur and Runningwind are siblings, kits of Halftail and One-eye. Redtail and an unknown she-cat are the parents of Sandstorm. Goldenflower is the mother of Swiftpaw, even though the trees say it's Willowpelt. Graystripe and Longtail are half-brothers; Graystripe's parents are Willowpelt and Patchpelt, while Longtail's are Patchpelt and an unknown she-cat. Read this over, and tell me on my talk-page when to post it. SIGNED, GroceryBag 17:00, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Will you please mentor me? I am part of a clan with Shellstar and Stonepool_1996! I am the apprentice of Sandfoot, the deputy. --Lillypaw 16:02, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Lillypaw

RE: Chat

I'm not sure what the Wikia Policies on such things are **checks** Technically, they're not yet in violation of any rules or policies. I think drafting a policy along the lines of Wikipedia is Not might be appropriate for us at this point. I'll come up with a rough draft sometime tonight to show you (I need something to settle to), and then we can go over it to finalize and send it to vote over the next few days.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 22:50, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Queen?

I know i ask you already and my message should be somewhere... but anyway can I put Queen in Cat's that were told in the book were queen? But the problem is, If I put Queen, I have to write their warrior name as well and well what do you think? Should it stay or should I put the warrior and queen together for the same name, or should I erase all I did?

RE: Swifty Adminship Request

I really wish you would have... I dunno.. Written a real policy concerning votes that would be eligible prior to starting this... Because I Honestly want to apply some serious standards. I want to disregard every vote that doesn't support itself, every vote that Swifty solicited, and the like... There's also the issue that 99% of Swifty's edits in the mainspace, while correcting and tweaking, seem to be NOTHING ELSE. I honestly don't think Swifty meets the second requirement that specifically forbids "not tons of short, rapid edits"... Swifty's a good Rolebacker, and does a lot for the Wiki... But there's also other issues... The idea that being an Admin is just "getting a few extra buttons" disturbs me profoundly...

Really... We should halt the entire proceedings... write a proper policy on the process of becoming an Admin and have it voted in in accordance with the process every other Policy has undergone (with policy discussions during the writing followed by a vote in process).

First thoughts include that it shouldn't just be an "Ask and we open a vote"... I feel it should be "Nominate Self, have Nomination Seconded & Thirded, THEN we vote, assuming EVERYONE puts forth a good spiel as to WHY we should even take things seriously.

Anyways... I feel that the community needs to be involved, and we setup a proper policy before we let this system name anybody an admin. Right now things are not clear, requirements are mixed with process instructions and the like... and people are voting without consideration for anything other than saying yes (or so it seems, based on the comments that are more like back-patting some buddy of theirs). I've been trying to find ways to express my feelings on what I perceive as a slap-dash policy that was written to get someone promoted.

 Kitsufox  Fox's Den 23:30, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I kinda agree with you there Kitsu. What do you mean by tweaking? --JayfeatherTalk 23:36, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Editing, Changing, Updating. All of them are encompassed in the process of "making tweaks". Dictionary Definition, #3 being the one that applies. My.. Vernacular is rather distinctively my own.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 23:42, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
